Everett Fire Department to Offer Community Emergency Response Training

Residents can register now for upcoming CERT course

EVERETT, WA – The Everett Fire Department is offering a winter session of its Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday nights beginning January 24 through March 13, 2008.

The eight-week course will provide a variety of disaster planning, recovery and survival skills aimed at surviving and assisting our community in disaster response and recovery. Everett residents, as well as those who are employed in Everett, are encouraged to participate in these free emergency preparedness classes. To date, more than 250 people have participated in the Everett Fire Department CERT Program.

Applications are available at the Everett Emergency Management office located at 2801 Oakes Avenue in downtown Everett. Class size is limited. The deadline for applications is January 10, 2008. For more information, contact the Everett CERT Coordinator at 425 257-8111.
