Job Description
|
| Shoreline Fire Department is hiring a Lateral Career Firefighter. Shoreline is located in north King County in Washington. Shoreline Fire Department employs more than 100 full-time personnel and provides 24-hour coverage for fire and medical emergencies. In 2007, they responded to more than 9,400 calls. The department serves a population of 53,000 and covers an area of approx. 13 square miles.

Lateral Entry Examination Process:
Resume Screening, Oral Interview, Medical and Psychological Examination, Substance Abuse Screening, Thorough Background Investigation, and may include written and/or practical exercises.

Job Requirements

Additional Requirement :
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Three years continuous experience at the same agency as a full time/paid fire fighter (Volunteer, military, or sleeper experience will not apply toward this requirement.)
Certified Fire Fighter 1; WA State Certified EMT or Reciprocity; WA State Driver's License and EVAPP Certification or Equivalent.
DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Personnel evaluations covering last three (3) years with sick leave use; letter of recommendation from Chief (highly desireable); Rescue Systems 1; Hazmat Awareness; Trench & Confined Space Awareness; Certifications of addition applicable training and experience.
