| POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under general direction from the Fire Chief, the Fire Division Chief will be assigned to assist in and/or manage one or more Fire Department programs such as Fire Prevention, Operations, Safety, Training, Suppression, Hazardous Materials, EMS, Administration or other programs as needed. This position is FLSA exempt and works a 40-hour work week schedule. The Division Chief will be responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the Fire Department and its budget. The Division Chief will also serve as a Duty Chief on a rotating basis and is subject to emergency call and out of area response.
In the absence of the Fire Chief, the Division Chief will assume the duties and responsibilities of the Fire Chief.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Supervision is provided by the Fire Chief. Fire Division Chief supervisory responsibilities include the supervision of Fire Captains, Fire Engineers, Firefighters, Paramedics and other fire support personnel as needed.

| SALARY
$5,957.10 - $7,253.05/month, plus management pay, flex dollars; medical, dental, vision, life insurance coverage, and paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave. The City is a member of the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). The 10% employee contribution is included in the base salary and is paid by the employee. Public Safety Fire Members are currently under the 2% at 50 retirement formula, but will convert to 3% @ 55 by September 30, 2008. The City does not contribute to Social Security. Credit Union membership and a deferred compensation program are available.
This position is subject to the Management Unit Memorandum of Understanding in effect from October 1, 2007 to September 30, 2010 and will receive scheduled salary increases each October during the term of the contract.
